Rose City Playaz Club – Volume 1

Portland is another city in the northwest which seems to have a thriving local scene but despite being on the cusp of the next level has never really moved to the major spotlight. With labels like 2 Real Records and & Jus Family records having major success and even signing deals in the past it looked promising for the City Of Roses. Another label burst onto the Portland scene in the late 90’s was Greenleaf entertainment. The label’s two primary artists were Mackin Rob & Brotha Luv. The two were a big part of the labels first big release “Rose City Playaz Club” appearing on 6 of the 14 tracks. The two later linked up to drop a duo album in 2000 entitled “Oregonized”. The album features appearances from Big Tay, Cool Nutz, G-Ism, Bosko, Redrum, B Sharpe, Maniac Lok, GOTM, Kenny Mack, Tremaine, and many more.
