In a region where rap music usually takes a back seat to other genres the city of Tacoma is often overshadowed by its big brother Seattle. Roulette Delgato – The Antidote

Roulette Delgato was born in The Oregon State Penitentiary in 1986. Shortly after birth his grandma came and took custody due to his mothers time left to serve.  Roulette was taken to Portland Oregon where he and his sisters stayed until their mother got out eleven months later. “I don’t know much about my dad, but I do know that he has about thirteen kids; I only know four of them. I don’t remember much until about seven, but I do remember falling asleep in my moms lap almost every night listening to Betty Right, Keith Sweat, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, and one of my personal favorites R. Kelly.” By the age of eight Roulette was in love with music and it is all he thought about. “I would run around the house singing all day, driving everybody crazy. I remember being on top of the kitchen table, singing and imitating Michael Jackson moves. Everything from the famous spin to crotch grab.”

Key Element – Underground

KEY ELEMENT! Made of four individual entities named: “T-Yo”,“ Rook” AJS “The Mid-West Playa” & “E-Boog”. Having met by chance, it was inevitable that Key Element would come to be.. Promoter, Ken Roy of SeaTown Pro., had always been aware of Billboard Chart Topper, Tonyo \’the husla\’ (With his hit P.H.D. ‘playa hata degree’), from working with big names like George Clinton, Celly Cel, Thug Life, Dolemite, D-shot of the Click, and more, when he came across “Rook” an undiscovered voice, now known to be “Mr.Cool the Pimp\”from Chi-Town”, he knew immediately that the two must meet! From that introduction alone, followed the union of “E-Boog” the grinder (a long time friend of Rook), & “AJS” the player(The cousin of T-Yo).This created a sound that has been quoted as, “off the chain”! A fusion of hot tracks, great hooks, outstanding “live performers” with mad energy, creates this street, radio, and club sound.

Synsay – Synsay

One of the only female MC’s in Seattle, SynSay has taken over the Seattle hip hop scene and been dubbed “The Top Northwest Female MC” by BigDawg Records. Full of energy, she has hit the stage with enthusiasm and every show results in a packed house with fans screaming for more. With her love of music and technique for storytelling, SynSay is emerging as a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop community. This charismatic female boss has a refreshingly new sound with a club feel to it. Born Cynthia Gloria out of Oklahoma, she began her music career only a year ago in Seattle. Alongside with the group Urban Soul, she started her journey as a solo artist in the hip hop community. At this point in her career she began opening shows for such artist like Spice 1, Too Short, and 2 Live Crew just name a few. After grinding on her own for a year she hooked up with Seattle’s hype man extraordinaire Shurlock of BigDawg Records. After a couple of sessions SynSay, the self titled album was born with the 1st track being My Number 1. The single “Jeans” is hot club track reminiscent of the durdy south college experience. With its tuba and brass driven bass lines, sitting on top a lean wit it drum track Jeans is definitely a song for the clubs.  This song is a tribute to everywoman that says “Yeah I Know I Look Good in Them Jeans”, from Baby Phat all the way down to Apple Bottom. MC Overdose – NW Posse

Every region has its history even the great rainy city of Seattle, Washington. MC Overdose and the NW Posse is one of the early groups to release music from the region. This tape dates back to the early era of hip hop being released in 1991 on Posse Up Productions. It features two tracks “What Up Black” produced by the legendary George Clinton and “Hot Mama” produced by local producer Todd Brown.
