T Soprano Aka Spoon – Class Is In Session

T soprano a.k.a. Spoon was born Anthony Malone in Portland Oregon on October 8, 1983. At a young age he would listen to artists such as Mac Dre, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, The Dog Pound, UGK, The Hot Boyz and the Luniz to name a few. At age 12 he began writing raps. Around that time he was performing in school talent shows and rapping and freestyling with friends and family. He moved back and forth from Portland Oregon to Seattle Washington throughout his junior high years and also through high school. He attended Rainier Beach high school in Seattle but ended up graduating from US Grant high school in Portland Oregon. Throughout those years he would always write music but never really took it serious. One year after graduating high school when Anthony was 19 he was shot twice once in the arm and once on his side. This was a life changing experience for Anthony he realized being in the street life could end up being fatal. After he got out of the hospital and finished rehabilitation he began taking music more serious. He linked up with neighborhood and childhood friend Syko, a producer, who had worked with Mac Dre, Brotha Lynch Hung, and a list of west coast artists and begin to work on projects.

T soprano aka Spoon’s first debut was on Syko’s Mac Dre presents “American Syko” in 2004. Over the next three years he was in and out of jail but managed to record a mix tape executive produced by Syko called Round one. This project featured production from Syko, Non-Stop and also NateBeatz, all Portland Oregon producers. The mixtape featured a host of Northern California artists such as a what Smigg Dirtee, Rydah J Klyde (Mob Figaz), and  Dubee Of Thizz Entertainment. He put the project out with Syko through Making The Grade Entertainment independently. In 2008 he connected with a local record/mixtape company called High Rollerz Records/coast-to-coast mixtapes. He was featured on over 100 or more mixtapes with coast-to-coast mixtapes from 2008-2009 then dropped the hit single “I’m Eatin” which made it to Sirius satellite radio and was a huge success locally. He also put out “Round 2” the mixtape thru coast-to-coast mixtapes for free download on various mixtapes sites such as Datpiff.com and got a good response.

In 2010 he put out his debut album “Respect Before Success” thru coast-to-coast mixtapes and independent label he was co-owner, of Huslinare Llc. The album was produced mainly by Vince V of Sky High Entertainment, a producer out of Sacramento, CA. Right before this album was released he caught a gun charge and was sentenced to twenty four months in state prison. Before he began to serve his sentence he put out three videos for the album. Different, Respect Before Success, Corner Boy and one of the videos was featured on the hip-hop site worldstarhiphop.com.  It received over 30,000 views. The album had guest appearances from New York artist Grafh, Cash Money Records artist Glasses Malone, Bay Area rappers Mistah F.A.B, The Jacka (Mob Figaz), Sacramento artists Smigg Dirtee, Luni Coleone and a list of local talent.

He was released March 9, 2012. Since he has been working on mixtape “Class Is In Session” which is now available for purchase and download. Next up is the album “1Love 2Reasons” which is scheduled to drop shortly after the mixtape in 2014. He is a proud father of twin daughters, and is currently attending Portland Community College as a business major. He is also doing a clothing and styrofoam cup line called F.A.Y.L (Forever,Above,Your,Level ). He has started his own crew, consisting of friends and family called The Flunkeez or Flunkee Gang. It represents the people who were looked at as failures, but turned negatives to positives, made the best of their situations, and are proving doubters wrong.
