Al-One has been rapping for a long time and most people know him from the super collective know as Sandpeople. A deep crew with a slew of releases Al-One has played host to a grand line of features and group projects. Surprisingly his only solo dates back to 2003 and only recently he released “Talk Of The Town” a free EP download. Due time just caught up and Al-One is finally releasing his second solo project almost 10 years later. Titled “The Remedy” it features some great production and solid features from the likes of Freeway, Kokane, Sly Boogy, DJ Wicked, Illmaculate, DJ Spark, Spitfire, Epp, Sapient, plus many more. Sandpeople as a whole is interesting because it is essentially a movement of artists that really all have their own styles. They just work well together which seems to bode well in supplicating various projects. When it comes to solo work you really get a feel of the artist though. Al-One is half of what Sandpeople is known to do best and he mixes that with his affinity for that classic west coast hip hop sound. “The Remedy” has a comprehensive production effort due to the likes of DJ Flip Flop, Stewart Villain, Chase Moore, Andy B, DaiN, Pale Sole, and Trox. The rhymes are dope even the big features do not sound like your typical pay and throw away type guest spots.
