Quarter After – G Between Us

It was a time when thoughtful and planned rap actually meant something and was vastly recognized. These days not so much and not to blame or diss new age artists but the talent level would be fickle in comparison to olden. Talented artists hooking up with talented producers is something we like to see but even better is when they decide to do a whole project together. This particular combination sees Marcus D and Justis hook up to form the group “Quarter After”. As most do this introduction is short and simple with an EP “G Between Us” which abodes us with seven Marcus D produced tracks that accentuate his love for hip hop but also show his adulation to draw influence from elsewhere. Justis for those who have followed know he was a beast in the battle scene and his writtens fare just as well on this project, you get thoughtful rhymes that would put your average knick knack patty wack rhymers to bed. The two continue to work as Marcus D has had several instrumental album successes with a fanbase in Japan and Justis is working on his follow-up project “W.A.”.
