Shaymlusly Elliterate – If You Can’t Say It, Spell It

Shaymlusly Elliterate is comprised of emcee’s Elliterate, from Seattle, WA, and Shaymlus, from Missoula, MT. Focusing on the lyrical aspect of hip-hop, SE provides a blend of witty metaphors, climatic punchlines, and rapid-fire multiple-syllable rhyming.  In their short amount of time on the scene, SE has already graced the beats of DJ’s from all different subgenre’s of Hip-Hop, stretching across the map from Europe to the Western USA. Their debut mixtape, “Late To Class”, provided production from London DJ Passion Hi-Fi, Seattle, WA producer DJ Bee, and DJ Hashh (of SlopStar) from Missoula, MT. Released on iTunes, Amazon.com and Datpiff.com on Feb. 26th, 2010, “Late To Class” showcased emcee Elliterate’s biting metaphors and story-telling ability (Songs “Portrait”, “NARC”) and Shaymlus’ laid-back, melodic flow (“Lifeline” , “I Got News For You”).

Their second mixtape, a compilation of 8 previously recorded tracks, was released shortly after “Late To Class”. This mixture, entitled “The Spelling Bee”, was presented by SynSpeak.Com and once again provided an ode to Shaymlusly Elliterate’s versatility; featuring the production of Denver, CO DJ Supremacy, Bozeman, MT’s The Funk Junkie, and Toronto, Canada producer/rapper Watts. In September of 2010, SE was selected to compose an original track to be featured in the Seattle Public Theater’s award winning theatrical production of “Mauritius”, written by Pulitzer Prize nominated Theresa Rebeck. Their track, entitled “Money”, featured an original beat produced by The Funk Junkie and was featured during the month-long run of the show. Later that year, they also produced all of the music for Seattle’s Theater Schmeater’s play “Crooked”, directed by Russ Banham.

They have also been named an affiliated artist by SynSpeak.com, had their track “The Gup Diss” rated “Audio Of The Month” on BrickCity.net, and have garnered the respect of numerous west coast artists. Their third mixtape (and first full-length mixtape) was released in August of 2011. Entitled “If You Can’t Say It, Spell It”, this tape was produced 100% by The Funk Junkie and features the singles “Hittin’ With The… ft. Cassidiom” and “Younger Daze ft. Mac Shine”, which includes a music video filmed by the World Famous James Wade.
