Elite G’z – Planet G

Elite G'z - Planet G

Remember the time when it was cool to have tapes even when CD’s were coming out and no doubt the vinyl heads felt the same way when tapes were introduced. Being independent is nothing new and artists have been doing it since the start. While there is a lot of artists today that complain about not getting any shine it was plenty of artists in the same situation in the olden days. Elite G’z was a group from Seattle with what sounds like some ties to Tacoma as well who released this debut tape in 1996 called “Planet G” on Jypsy Twist Records. Made up of members Mr Madd, Credit Loc, The Boss Mack Spark Loc, this album featured the consistency the mid nineties presented with mobbed out g funk styled beats courtesy of G-1 Phunk Productions who produced the whole album.

  1. one of my favorite albums from the 206, they re from the Central of Seattle affiliated with Sir Mix A-Lot, E-Dawg and Cen tral Dynasty.well they kinda get their shine while doing the whole tour with Sir Mix Alot, they sold over 5000 cds of planet g only while touring so it kinda was a succesful project.then they opened shows for Snoop Dogg Skee-Lo and others.they also dropped an album in 1997,need to check for that.

  2. i had a wrong info , they only made 500 tapes of this.i talked to one of the members and the other album was never released, songs from 1992-1996.but they lost the master copy of it.

    • wuzup phillip & sonji,

plz contact me by email i need your help whit this title of elite g’z ! hope you’ll answer to me big thx

      • its only on tape. what made you think that it came ou on cd? i talked to one member and paul brooks both stated clearly that it never been dropped on cd.

    • Any cd’s made in the 90’s had to be bootleg copies. That is a possibility, but there were no official cd’s pressed by the original group. This was a tape only release when it came out… although it wasn’t intended to just be tape only.
