Killingsworth is a documentary that tells the in depth tale of Anthony Branch Jr. It details from the very start of his youth up into his induction into “The Kerby Blocc Crips” gang in which he became one of its biggest and most notorious members. “Anthony Branch Jr. was described as a smart, likeable, talkative kid with a mile-wide grin and a halo of soft curls; also known as “Lil’ Smurf” he was responsible for more gang rumblings in the 1990’s in Portland than anyone else. Killingsworth recounts the story of “Lil’ Smurf” in an attempt to understand factors that led to a life of gang violence, drugs, theft and death at the age of 20. Interviews with his school teachers, counselors, family, gang associates, and police officers are compiled to investigate the life of this notorious gangster.
The documentary is also accompanied by a sound track which features Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Bizzy Bone, WC, Messy Marv, Guce, GOTM, Spider Loc, Spice 1, Cool Nutz, Maniac Lok Bosko, Luni Coleone, Meezilini, and many more. The documentary and soundtrack is presented by Smurf Luchiano who is also chronicled in the film. A jail term confined him to a federal maximum-security cell for two years, where he was eventually acquitted of the charges. A complete political and personal transformation followed as J Norman became a business owner and founder of the group GOTM and 2 Real Records, he crusaded against the causes of gang violence, and political justice. The newly formed Hip Hop group GOTM gained fame locally and appeared in many nationally acclaimed magazines, such as The Source, XXl, Explosive, Murder Dog, Flossin magazines.
GOTM released their very first album with 2Real Records in 1998, called “Comin’ for the Goods” and had two singles “Heavy on the Grind” and “No Deal” featuring Guce, and produced by Bosko. GOTM, which stands for “G’s On the Move” consisted at the time of artists Smurf Luchiano, Infamous 1 Moe and DT the Mouthpiece. The three were later joined by Meezilini. Additional albums following include “Guilty Till Proven Innocent” (2001), “Double Jeopardy” (2003), “Voices of the Streets” (2008), and “No Deal Mixtape Volume 1” (2009). With 5 albums in total, they have sold over 100,000 units independently. They have appeared on stages with artists such as E-40, Mac Dre, Keak da Sneak, Lloyd Banks, Swizz Beats, Young Dro, Too Short, The Diplomats, Mitchy Slick and Bosko, to name a few. 2 Real Records has been representing the west coast music, and are considered pioneers of the Pacific Northwest region.
