Alaska Redd – Trapped In The Land Of The Frozen

Welcome to the frozen North and Alaskan Hip Hop at it’s best. Josh Silva a.k.a Redd started his music career with 50 Belo Records a local record label in 1994. After their relocation to California, Redd chased his dream of putting Alaska on the map by starting his own label Redddot Productions. Dubbed the pioneer of the Interior’s Hip Hop scene. Redd has succeeded in his plans to “Get Alaska Heard”. With his first solo release “Orgnizdrkus”(Orgin-izd-rukus), released 2001, then in 2002 with a duet album “Clearer Than Black and White”. Collaborating with the artist Dolla B at his side, the album sold over 250 copy’s in its first hour on the shelf’s locally.

The third release from ReddDott was I.M.W. (Interiors Most Wanted) a double disk released in 2004 featured over 32 individual artists. The forth release coming out of ReddDott was “Hastyle Reign A Warriors Tale” released in 2005. Then in 2007 the release of King Slims “Crown’d Royal”. Setting a foundation for his label Redd thought it was time for him to focus back on himself and work on his next big project which was his sophomore release “Trapped In The Land Of The Frozen”. Wanting to this to be his best project to date Redd explains why it took so long “I wanted to work with a lot of artists that I was inspired by and grew up too. When artists came into town for shows I was able to get them into the studio for this album”. Redd’s sophomore album features appearances from industry heavy hitters like E-40, Devin The Dude, Dru Down, Yukmouth, Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, and Kutt Kalhoun.

With Production from producers such as the SUPPER PRODUCER Sean T, local heavy hitter E-Magnificent, Booster Gold, Tim Dawg, Babby Dre, Chaos, Marcell, and many more. Redd explains “I want to teach people in the lower 48 how life is up here. We not living in igloos playing in the snow. Im turning the world on to what it is like in Alaska, one track at a time”!
