151 received his coming into the game nod in 1994 by the Godfather of West Coast rap himself C-Bo who was thriving off the success of his first two albums “Gas Chamber” & “The Autopsy”. C-Bo took the young artist known as 151 under his wing getting him signed to AWOL Records in early 1995 where he appeared on several AWOL releases before the label eventually folded. 151’s mentor and confidant would be incarcerated in the late 90’s which put a hold on his music career. Fate would realign the two in 2000 when C-Bo started his own record label West Coast Mafia Records once again bringing 151 back to familiar territory by signing him as one of the labels new flagship artists.

In 2003 151 finally got what had been promised to him all this time with the release of his solo album entitled “Code Of The Street” which was an independent success selling over 10,000 copies through retail outlets and the internet. A year later in an effort to promote West Coast Mafias roster the label decided to put together a group called West Coast Mafia Gang which consisted of C-Bo, Killa Tay, Lil Cyco, & 151. The groups album “Gang Affiliated” was released in 2004 and featured the hit single “Gangsta Pimpin” which received solid replay value on the then popular show BET Uncut. The album went on to sell over 25,000 copies and started to give 151 the press he finally deserved as he was showcased in such magazines as XXL, Black Beat, Murder Dog, Showcase, Xplosive, Rime, Seaspot, Seattle Weekly, just to name a few.

Representing Seattle, 151 has a universal appeal specializing in street related topics but not limiting his-self as an artist he is also able to capture commercial audiences. His latest album “Power & Privilege” proves that point with solid production from producers such as D-Sane, Bosko, Tryfe, Big Hollis, Roc Phella, Kuddy, Apolou, West Coast Stone, Paul Silvia, Big Squeeze, Funk Daddy, 151, ZoBeats, & Mo Betta. The album features artists like Carl Thomas of Bad Boy Records, Juvenile, Joe Budden, Kurupt, C-Bo, 2 Pac’s Outlawz, Bun-B, Yukmouth and Messy Marv, and many more.
