Dub B – The SeaReal Way

After four years, two albums, shows from the House of Blues on Sun Set Boulevard in LA, to Club Prana in Tampa, Florida, as well as the chance to build friendships and working relationships with the likes of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, the Outlawz, and many other established artists, 23-year-old SeaReal Records artist Dub B is planning the next stage of his takeover from SeaReal Studios, the place Dub calls home when he’s in Seattle.

“I bleed green blood, emerald green blood!” is the declaration Dub B makes when speaking on the love he has for his hometown of Seattle, Washington, a.k.a. the Emerald City. Understanding the power of Hip Hop to translate any story into a universal language, recognizable across the country and around the world, Dub has his sights set on transcending the perceptions of an industry and a public that sometimes doesn’t see beyond the surface.Speaking about himself Dub makes no qualms about the love he has for Hip Hop: “Yes! I am a young kid from the Hills, but I am a product of the Hip Hop culture this is not a joke for me. My story might be different than some, but my experiences and what I have to contribute to Hip Hop are just as relevant as any other artist,” says Dub.  “This is what I grew up listening to and loving.  It was rock & roll for kids of my generation.”

Influenced by icons like Tupac and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Dub takes his music seriously, and the results back that up.  The smoothed out flows, heartfelt lyrics and easy, soulful production, makes each track’s message original and compelling, that takes listeners on a journey from the clubs and dance floors, to the wars fought in our own backyards to those on foreign soil. “I want to give people something unique, that they can relate to, no matter who they are, or where they’re from, it’s a boundary-less message,” claims Dub. “My music can bang out of speakers from the Northwest to the Far East, and everywhere in-between.” The list of artists, producers, and engineers Dub has put in studio time with stands as a testament to his work ethic and his ability to appeal to a wide-ranging audience.

“Being in the studio alongside legends, like all of the Bone Thugs members, the Outlawz, and Val Young (Tupac’s “To Live and Die in LA), as an artist you have to be on point.  You have to step your game up to that next level, and consistently do that on every track, with every lyric, with every vocal.” The results of those collaborations, and of having the input of artist and producer Thin C, ended up attracting the sought after talents of Lance Pierre and Tommy Dougherty, the engineering team behind a number of Death Row’s classic albums, including Tupac’s Makaveli. “Having Tommy D and Lance P agree to work on the project was a real honor.  Those two don’t have to take on a project if they don’t like it,” says Dub.  “To have them believe in me that much, that makes me even more confident that I’ve got something that audiences are going to enjoy and respect.”

With the infrastructure and talent SeaReal Records and Dub B have established, their commitment to creating quality music, and the drive that Dub B puts into his work, it will be no surprise to see the soon to be infamous SR logo and hear the name Dub B everywhere you turn in near future.
